We warmly congratulate Dr. Stephan Hammer on his new position at Bielefeld University. Stephan Hammer has accepted a call for the W1 TT W2 professorship for “Organic Chemistry and Biocatalysis”. His Emmy Noether Research Group will join the Department of Chemistry at Bielefeld University on December 1, 2019. The research group aims to explore new reactivities and catalytic principles in enzyme catalysis. Stephan Hammer combines methods from organic chemistry, directed enzyme evolution and bioinformatics to discover, develop and understand new enzyme function for application in synthetic organic chemistry.
