New publication in "Chemistry & Biology"

The maintainence of DNA methylation patterns by the Dnmt1 DNA methyltransferase is essential for human cells. In a publication in "Chemistry & Biology" we have studied how Dnmt1 copies DNA methylation patterns after DNA replication. We showed that the so called CXXC domain - contrary to previous models - does not have a role in this process. Our data will help to better understand the mechanism of this important enzyme.
